When bringing a pet to the surgery please ensure that dogs are on a lead and cats in a secure basket or other suitable carrier before you take them from the car. You can borrow a cat carrier or a slip lead at reception.
Emergencies
Please telephone us, even during the day, before bringing in an emergency. It will allow us to prepare for your arrival.
At all times emergency cases will be given priority

Facilities and Services
We aim to provide your pets with a full range of services both to keep them healthy and to treat them when they are sick. To do so we are constantly upgrading our equipment and skills and expanding our range of services. Learn more about our facilities and services.
Staff Training
We are committed to ongoing training and education for all staff members. We have been training and educating student veterinary nurses for more than ten years and all nurses and vets regularly attend continuing education courses. You will find details of our attendance from time to time in the news pages.

The Vets
Katherine Nolan
MVB MRCVS started Abbeyside in 1988. Her special interests are the treatment of cancer in pets and emergency medicine. She also maintains this web site.
Pat Carroll
MVB has worked for Ormonde Veterinary in Kilkenny for the last 8 years and with Abbeyside since January 1999. Pat is very interested in orthopaedic surgery and radiology.
Jimmy Walsh
MVB MRCVS is one of the original Ormonde vets and joined Abbeyside in 1999. He has a particular interest in dermatology.
Angela Rosengrave
MVB MRCVS has worked with Abbeyside for the last 9 years. She has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery.
The Nurses
Dorothy Casey
VN has been head nurse at Abbeyside since 1990. She runs our weight loss clinics and also advises about behavioral problems in dogs and cats. Dorothy also has a qualification in Bereavement Counseling.
Lisa O’Rourke
Is a second year student VN. She is a real whiz at caring for orphan puppies and kittens and for older pets.
Suzanne Comerford
Is a first year student veterinary nurse and our newest staff member – we are delighted to welcome her aboard!
